How To Order A Drink

Booze first, mixer second. EX: Gin and tonic. Vodka cranberry. Rum and coke. Etc.

Know differences between "well", "call" and "top shelf".

"WELL" The cheap house booze. It’s a brand-name you’ve probably never heard of and it’s what you’re getting unless you ask for a "call or top shelf". An economical buzz.
"CALL" This is the next step up from "well" and is usually a name brand. EX: Absolut, Bacardi,Jack Daniels, Cuervo, etc. When ordering a "call" drink, you would want to say , Absolut and cranberry instead of vodka and cranberry. You get the idea, You’re gonna pay a little bit more, but it’s worth it.
"TOP SHELF" This is the more expensive "call". EX: Hennessy, Glenlivet, Courvoisier.
"PREMIUM" Really expensive "top shelf". EX: Patron, Remy Martin. Reserved for the conniseur.

Keep in mind that these are guidelines and it is up to the house to determine what brands fall into what categories. Expect variations from place to place.

Know your terms: There are many drink variations.
